Terms of service
Last updated 18 October 2026
These terms cover anyone who uses the SeamlesPay website, dashboard or API. If you run a business on SeamlesPay, the Merchant agreement also applies to you. How we handle personal information is in the Privacy policy.
Contents
1. Who we are
“SeamlesPay”, “we” and “us” mean SeamlesPay, which runs the SeamlesPay payment service at seamlespay.com, app.seamlespay.com and api.seamlespay.com.
SeamlesPay is not a bank. We provide technology that lets businesses collect payments and send payouts.
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account, signing in, or using our API, you agree to these terms. If you use SeamlesPay for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for that business.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Nigerian law.
3. Your account and sign-in
- Give us true, complete and current information, and update it when it changes.
- Keep your password, authenticator app, withdrawal PIN and API secret keys private. Anyone who uses them is treated as you.
- Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account or your keys.
- Only invite people you trust to your team, and give them the smallest role they need.
- We will never ask for your password, PIN, authenticator code or secret key.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use SeamlesPay for anything illegal, for fraud, or to receive money you are not entitled to;
- use SeamlesPay for a business on our list of prohibited businesses in the Merchant agreement;
- let another person or business use your account, keys, business ID or payment pages;
- try to get around our checks, limits, holds, or the locks on your API keys and webhooks;
- attack, overload, scan, copy or reverse-engineer the service, or access data that is not yours;
- pretend to be SeamlesPay, another business or another person.
We may stop or limit an account that breaks these rules, and we may report suspected crime to the police, the EFCC, the NFIU or other authorities as the law requires.
5. If you are paying a business
When you pay a business through a SeamlesPay payment page, link or account number, you are paying that business. The business, not SeamlesPay, is responsible for the goods or services you are buying.
If something goes wrong, first contact the business. If you think a payment was a fraud or a mistake, contact us with the payment reference, amount and date, and we will look into it.
6. Our website and software
The SeamlesPay name, logo, website, dashboard, API and documentation belong to us. We give you a limited right to use them to run your business on SeamlesPay while your account is open. You may copy the code examples in our documentation into your own software.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep SeamlesPay running all the time, but it may sometimes be unavailable, for example during maintenance or when a bank or partner is down. We are not responsible for delays caused by banks, partners, networks or events outside our control.
We may improve, change or stop parts of the service. If a change affects you badly, we will tell you first where we can.
8. Our responsibility to you
We provide SeamlesPay with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and as far as the law allows, the service is provided “as is”. We are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, or indirect loss.
Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including under the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act 2018. Limits for businesses are in the Merchant agreement.
9. Closing your account
You can ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account as described in the Merchant agreement. We keep some records after an account closes because the law requires it; the Privacy policy explains how long.
10. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If we have a disagreement, we will first try to settle it by talking. If that fails, it will be decided by the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will show the new date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell account holders by email or in the dashboard at least 14 days before they apply. If you keep using SeamlesPay after that, you accept the new terms.
